Up-to-date GLEC factors, vessel arrivals by port new endpoint
📅 Jan 2026
This release focuses on keeping our emissions methodology aligned with the latest industry standards, with an update to GLEC emission factors (v3.2) across all supported modes. Alongside this, we’re introducing a new vessel arrivals endpoint, expanding our Vessel API to make upcoming port calls easier to retrieve and integrate into operational workflows.
📚 Overview
🌱 Carbon emissions APIs
GLEC emission factors updated (v3.2)
We’ve updated our emission factors to GLEC Framework v3.2 (end-2025) across all supported modes, ensuring continued alignment with the latest industry methodology.
- This update covers freight emissions for road, sea (including trade-lane-specific factors), rail, inland-waterways, and fuels for all modes, including electricity
- Regional adjustment – Oceania: for road freight in Oceania, we’ve updated our methodology to apply European emission factors, following GLEC recommendations where no region-specific factors are available. As a result, truck size-based calculations are now supported for this region as well.
- 📘 The documentation has been updated accordingly to reflect this change.
🚢 Vessel APIs
🆕 Upcoming vessel arrivals by port endpoint
We’ve introduced a new endpoint (/vessel/v2/arrivals) to retrieve vessels scheduled to arrive at a given port, based on AIS destination data. This makes it easy to answer a simple but operationally critical question: “Which vessels are expected to arrive at this port, and when?”.
Given a UN/LOCODE, the endpoint returns a structured list of vessels:
- Sorted by ETA (earliest → latest)
- Limited to vessels with a known ETA
- Covering arrivals in a short-term operational window (recent arrivals + upcoming vessels)
Example
GET /vessel/v2/arrivals?locode=NLRTM{
"location": {
"locode": "NLRTM",
"city": "Rotterdam",
"country": "NL"
},
"count": 3,
"vessels": [
{ "imo": "9456120", "name": "Ocean Pioneer", "eta": "2026-03-14T09:20:00Z" },
{ "imo": "9874501", "name": "Blue Horizon", "eta": "2026-03-14T11:45:00Z" },
{ "imo": "9284500", "name": "Global Trader", "eta": "2026-03-14T16:10:00Z" }
]
}
What this enables
- Port and terminal traffic visibility
- Anticipation of operational workload or congestion
- Easier integration of arrival intelligence into monitoring or planning tools
This endpoint is now available in production, the documentation will be updated shortly.
